Proper storage of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH), a highly corrosive and hygroscopic strong base, is critical to ensure safety and product stability. Store solid and liquid KOH in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse with temperatures below 30℃ and relative humidity under 75%, away from direct sunlight, heat sources and open flames. The warehouse floor must be alkali-resistant, with leak-proof bunds to contain spills. Keep KOH isolated from acids, oxidizers, flammables, metal powders and food materials to avoid hazardous reactions. Use sealed, corrosion-resistant containers: galvanized steel drums for solids and HDPE barrels for liquids, with clear "Corrosive Substance" labels. Wear protective gear during handling, inspect containers regularly for leaks. In case of spills, neutralize with dilute acetic acid and dispose of properly per regulations.

Potassium Hydroxide is a highly corrosive strong base, so strict operational protocols must be followed. Always wear full protective gear: chemical-resistant gloves, goggles, face shields and impermeable clothing to avoid skin and eye contact. Operate in a well-ventilated workspace or under a fume hood to prevent inhalation of dust or fumes. Dilute KOH slowly into water with constant stirring—never add water to concentrated KOH, as it causes violent heat release and splashing. Avoid mixing with acids, oxidizers or metals to prevent hazardous reactions. After use, seal containers tightly. In case of contact, rinse skin/eyes with plenty of water for 15+ minutes and seek medical help immediately. Dispose of waste per local environmental regulations.
