Introduction to glacial acetic acid

Glacial acetic acid (CH3COOH, purity >99%) is named for its ability to solidify into ice-like crystals below 16.6℃. As an important organic chemical raw material, it has a strong, pungent acidic odor, is highly soluble in water, and is highly corrosive. It is widely used in the production of vinyl acetate and cellulose acetate.
